I couldn't decide whether to post pics of the kids making Valentine's letters or the shots I did this morning using my 50mm and the trees with a layer of snow/frost. There wasn't much snow on the ground but the trees were a nice white that was just beautiful. Couldn't help stopping to take a few pics! As you can see I decided to do both :)

My husband brought me roses today for Valentines Day (Thank You Honey) and I decided to take the photo I'd always wanted but never had. We got married in Vegas so we have very few photos of our wedding. I did have a bouquet of red roses though, so this is fairly realistic except my rings are now soldered together and I have an anniversary band that I didn't have then. At any rate I'm glad I now have a good photo of our rings :)

Today was the big tonsillectomy and adnoidectomy for my son. This is the after shot when we were headed home. He did AWESOME and is especially enjoying the ice cream, smoothies, and popsicles! Can you believe he's only had pain medicine twice since the surgery as I'm posting this the next day/evening! We are very proud of him!

You know when you pick something out at the store and think you know all about it and then you get home and find something else out? Well that's what happened with this. This photo is of the bar that runs underneath at end of my new coffee table. I hadn't noticed this little decoration on it until now!

This is another one of the plates from my Grandma. Funny story as to why it is the photo today. Cage, our cat that was featured here a few days ago, likes to climb up on the counter tops in the kitchen. He then proceeds on top of the refrigerator and then on top of the cabinets where all my plates, vases, etc are displayed. Well he happened to knock this one over and as I was putting it back up I decided to take this photo. I hope he just doesn't get wild one day and knock them off! I would be devastated!

CAN YOU SAY WIND?

This is the view from my front door looking toward the mountains. We had major winds today which you can see the dust storm in the background of this pic. The winds also brought this trampoline to the front of our house. It belonged to a neighbor who came over and took the fabric off before it went any further. She said she'd be back to get the metal tomorrow. I'm glad that the trampoline decided to stop before hitting our house and that I didn't have to be out in the wind!

This is my middle son's pinewood derby car. Today was the big race that he'd been waiting for with Cub Scouts. He got his car all ready with his fancy paint job - please notice the head lights - I thought they were very cool! At any rate, he woke up this morning with a fever. Those darn tonsils again, so he missed the race. He was very good about the whole deal and having his car the photo of the day consoled him! Glad I could help!

I couldn't decide on my photo so I included two. The first is of the sunset clouds. I have just recently noticed how quickly the sunset actually changes and moves. This project has made me much more aware of my surroundings as I don't usually have in mind the photo I want to take until it "hits me". The second one is of my youngest son getting ready for a game of tic tac toe at dinner. We went out to eat with family for my sister in law's birthday. Happy Birthday Kacey :)
