Apparently these large flowering cactus are rare and only located in certain places. Colorado is one of those places. They are very pretty when they bloom. The plants grow quite large as well.

We ended up on a BEAUTIFUL mountain road today and were greeted by these deer. There was one more but he was too fast for me to catch him!

This rose is from one of the three bushes I got for Mother's Day. We thought they were dying so we cut them back and low and behold they started blooming again!

In doing this project I find my self noticing cool and different things especially in nature. I'm not sure what this is I found growing on a rock. Also I was impressed with the variety of pine cones!

We went camping with the Cub Scouts and had a great time. I think they did too! They LOVED playing around and climbing rocks as well as roasting marshmallows and having hot chocolate! They did the Junior Ranger Program and also got to be sworn in as Junior Rangers! We were very proud of them!June 26, 2009

We drove to Greeley to the Stampede and saw Phil Vassar, one of our favorite artists. We had good seats under the awning which we were very thankful as it had rained and rained. We were very glad that we didn't have standing room only as it was truly a mud pit! Phil put on a great show as always. June 24, 2009
Swimming Lessons.... Today's was Hamlin's day for the diving board. He has NO FEAR! He also enjoyed the group part as you can see!June 23, 2009
Swimming lessons... Today was Porter's day to go the entire length of the pool unassisted. As you can see the teacher was right there, but he did it! He was so excited. He also liked going off the board.
