11: dreams - snow/ice...

Guess I should start by explaining that this post is 2 for one...  My 52 Friday's group theme this week was snow/ice and my joy of LOVE was dreams...  I took a drive up the mountain today.  I must say it was so peaceful...  This made me think of "dreams"...  We have many dreams but one recurring one is hiking and just plain getting away from the craziness.  We seem to stay so busy that even small get aways are usually just not in the cards for us.  Maybe that's why it's a "dream" either to do it on occasion or to think of doing it!  I thoroughly enjoyed my time out and about taking photos in the snow!  The photo of the mountains says "Peaceful get away"  to me.  When you're self employed and work from home sometimes it takes getting out of the office/house to see clearly.

You can see that I edited the same photo of the old wagon 3 times as I just couldn't decide which one I liked for the snow theme.  What about you ~ which one do you like?

10 Space – where they are comfortable

I knew at some point, I'd be taking pics of the animals that have become such a part of our family.  This is Scruffy.  He is totally comfortable in the living room window sill with the plants.  The curtains are usually closed and you don't even know he's there.  It's warm and a great way to stay away from the dog!

09: passions and hobbies

I'm running a little behind on my joy of LOVE project.  I actually took this photo yesterday but didn't get it downloaded/processed until today.  Been fighting a migraine but thanks to Dr. J., I'm doing much better today.  This is the latest creation of my youngest son's passion/hobby - legos.  All of my boys love them.  Certainly must be a boy gene as I can't make anything "cool" out of them.

08: gift from the heart

Today's joy of LOVE is a gift from the heart...  This is a photo of the necklace I received from my wonderful husband in November for our 10 year anniversary.  He had gotten me a similar one several years ago for my birthday I think, but one of the kids broke it and we lost the parts.  He knew I really missed it as I wore it every day.  This is only the second time I've had this one off since he got it for me!  ♥ Thank You Honey ♥

07: generations

Today's joy of LOVE topic is generations...  At first I was going to have one of my boys hold the five generation photo I have making them the 7th with me included but then I had the thought to go back into my files and edit some of the photos I have with my kids with their great grandparents.  These photos were taken in 2004.  My grandpa seen here in all of these photos is now gone to heaven and grandma lives in a nursing home, OH HOW I MISS THEM BOTH as grandma lives back home in MO.  I must say that I cried as I edited these...    I spent so much time with them growing up.  Learned to cook without measuring, learned how to milk a cow, how to bid at an auction, watched much hair being cut, styled or permed, fell asleep on a five gallon bucket inside the cab of the combine on grandpa's knee - oh, I could go on and on... Words can not describe the things they taught with their lives and actions.  When I was home last summer I brought back some mementos from their home... One being Grandpa's bible another grandma's journal.  It has been great to read and see the verses they had underlined as meaningful to them. I only hope that I can leave such a legacy!
