New/Old...

These coins were all made to be worth $1.  I'm not exactly sure what the first two would be worth today, maybe more than their intended $1, maybe not.   They all have a story though...  The first one is one of three silver dollars my grandpa gave me to give to my boys.  They are all three from 1922, his birth year.  The second one is from my birth year - and yes if you're good at mental gymnastics - you have figured out my age:)  At any rate, I earned it when I was a kid, somewhere between the ages of 7 and 9 for learning all the books of the Bible.  It wasn't a program, like AWANA has been for my boys, to learn Bible verses and the books of the bible, it was just a lady in the country neighborhood who thought it was important.  If my memory serves me correctly she died a few years back from cancer.  The third coin my son earned at the Buffalo Swim Club swim meet.  All have a story and all are special in their own way.

Pink/Red

I'm so very behind these days.  I've had a pinched nerve in my neck this week causing lots of pain and I've had sick kids...  Thanks to Dr. J, I'm back on the mend and hopefully the kids are too... We'll see what morning brings as far as school goes.  This week's 52 Friday's theme was Pink/Red...  This was both easy and hard for me.  You see, I'm the only female - well besides Molly that you see here as well - in my house. (She was looking so cute, I just had to take this one.)  I knew I'd have to find something that was mine to photograph for this challenge.  Since pink happens to be my favorite color I happen to have several pink writing utensils in my container by my desk.  When I took them out to take this photo there were only 4 left.  Two black - Two Purple...

Catching Up... Kinda...

I got behind in my joy of LOVE project and hope to get back on the bandwagon this week.  I spent last week taking and editing photos of the Buffalo USA Swim Team.  These two happen to be my favorites my oldest son. 

15: Kiss

Today's topic was "kiss" for the joy of LOVE project.  I'm running behind and hope to be caught up tomorrow - we shall see...  Little Miss Molly loves to give kisses.  It's not my favorite thing but my boys sure have fun with it!

14: wedding bands/jewelry

Happy Valentine's Day :)  My husband thoroughly spoiled me for Valentines Day.  Flowers, chocolate, lunch out and a movie for a later night at home...  How could I not use these things for Today's joy of LOVE theme of wedding bands or jewelry.  I never get tired of our wedding bands and the flowers made a perfect backdrop.  The monkey was a present my son got at school today and he thought he needed to be in the photos today too!  Our 52 Fridays theme is LOVE this week as well and I don't think I can top this one but maybe something else will pop out to me between now and then... Guess we'll just have to wait and see.
